Need to Know Newport, RI: Week of June 15

It finally feels like summer, right? Here’s what you need to know to start your sunny week in Newport, RI.

• New to Bellevue Avenue, CRU Cafe (next to Russell Morin catering and behind the Audrain Building) is celebrating it’s opening with a Grill Night on Tuesday, June 16 from 5 till 8 p.m. The menu will showcase local, in-season flavors. The event is B.Y.O.B. with indoor and outdoor seating available.

• The Aquidneck Growers’ Market returns to Memorial Boulevard on Wednesday, June 17 from 2 till 6 p.m. More than 30 vendors participate every week with local produce and products, hot prepared foods, and live music. Bring the family and a picnic blanket and stay for a while!

• The Newport Flower Show celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. New England’s premier flower shower starts on Friday, June 19 at 6 p.m. with it’s fabulous Opening Night Party. Attendees get the first peek at arrangements, horticultural extravaganzas, and can shop the outstanding marketplace on the lawn at Rosecliff overlooking Easton’s Bay. Tickets are $160 per person for Preservation Society Members and $190 per person for Non-members and can be purchased online.
