Newport Holiday Stroll: Make Your Shopping an Experience

Newport holiday stroll 2017

The Newport Holiday Stroll returns to downtown this year, brining cheer and great deals to seasonal shoppers. Starting today, dozens of local retailers will offer special promotions such as free gift wrapping and refreshments for shoppers looking for holiday spirit (and, of course, presents). The stroll will be held the first two weekends of December.

Retail partners for this year’s event include Kristen Coates, Style Newport, Bowen’s Wharf, Island Outfitters, Anchored in Pink, Coast to Country, Patagonia, Team One, Breakwater Surf, Blink Gallery, The UPS Store, Newport Lamp & Shade, Kiel James Patrick, Newport Wine Cellar & Gourmet, Crosswynd Traders, Anchor Toffee, and more.

Not sure where to start? Consider joining a Guided Shopping Tour, which will be held both Saturdays from 2:30 till 6 p.m. You’ll be led to some of town’s best destinations, then enjoy a complimentary appetizer at the end of the tour. Participants will also receive a 15 percent off coupon to dine at their choice of participating restaurants. The tours are free, but a reservation is required.

If you hate to wrap then you’ll love this: Lila Delman Real Estate will offer complimentary gift wrapping for anyone attending the Stroll on Sundays December 3 and 10. Just show up at their office (3 Memorial Boulevard) between noon and 4 p.m. with your goodies. Town stays remarkably busy through holidays, which is awesome, but if parking adds to your stress, good news! The Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina is offering free parking December 1–3 and 8–10; just bring your receipt of purchase from a participating shop.

Shopping really is exhausting, so when you need to refuel, hit up one of the many restaurants offering specials to Stroll shoppers; just look for an event poster displayed in their windows (or check out the list here) and bring your proof of purchase from a participating store.

Other weekend highlights include the Bowen’s Wharf 47th Annual Tree Lighting on Saturday, December 2 beginning at 4:30pm (always so pretty!), the reopening of the Newport Skating Center on Saturday, December 8 at 5 p.m., and performances by Newport Toy Theater on Sundays December 3 and 10.
