As if the Swedes haven’t already given us enough (IKEA, Volvo), now they’ve created another product that we can’t wait to get our hands on, Tangent Garment Care. This isn’t any old laundry detergent. As the name implies it’s for special garments, not just average clothes. I take that to mean the pieces that cost more, but that you know will still be in your closet a decade down the road because they’ve been finely crafted of quality materials. In other words, don’t waste it on your H&M finds.
Tangent is the output of David Samuelsson, co-founder, and inspired by his grandfather — a chimney sweep who, on his days off, took meticulous care of his Sunday-best attire. Products include stain remover, fine wash, denim wash, and fabric softener, as well as shoe polish, shoe brushes, and a shine cloth. In additional to their pleasantly minimalist packaging, Tangent’s products are made from all natural ingredients such as soy beans, orange oil, beeswax, coconut fat, and rosemary. Unfortunately, the line isn’t available on store shelves in the U.S. just yet, but we’ve got our fingers crossed that it’ll arrive soon. And no, we don’t think it would be out of line to move Stockholm to the top of your vacation destination list just to pick up a supply.
